Wee Gallery collections are both educational and artful. Over the years they have informally worked with a mix of child development experts who have introduced Wee Gallery merchandise to their own children. The company recently also created a more formalized group of advisors to ensure to have the latest advances infrormation in the area of infant development so all tge products maintain high standards as educational tools. Similarly, each collections’ designs must pass the test of, “Will this equally enchant both children and design obsessed parents?”

Wee products engage children for years. Though each products is designed with infant development in mind, they have a much longer lifespan in children’s lives. So while infants are mesmerized by the high-contrast patterns used in our Art Cards’ whimsical hand-painted images, the six month old loves to focus on a card’s single figure, and the two year old is able to call them by name.

Wee Gallery strives to use eco-friendly materials. That means they minimize use of plastics and avoid materials that may have dangerous effluents involved in their production, such as PVC. The company partners only with manufacturers that will abide by a code of conduct that includes ecologically and socially sustainable practices. They must agree to pay their workers a fair wage and provide good working conditions.

WHY BLACK + WHITE?

Before a baby learns to reach and grab with their hands or crawl and sit-up, their eyes are providing important information and stimulation for their development. A baby's brain undergoes an amazing period of development from birth to three — producing more than a million neural connections each second. High-contrast imagery offers the best opportunity for newborns to focus on visual stimuli and promotes visual exploration and engagement.

More than just entertainment, visual focus on a stimulus such as art cards can foster a sense of calm and coherence in visually busy spaces. A card placed over a diapering area can be used to redirect attention of wiggly infants, making diaper time a little easier on parents and caregivers. Furthermore, intriguing imagery invites commentary and conversation, encouraging adults to engage more with baby.
